Sandbox Server: Further adjustments to HE Shells

October 22, the Sandbox server will receive a small update. On the first iteration, the minimum effectiveness values of high-explosive shells were tested. Now on the second iteration, Wargaming is searching for the optimal effectiveness value, taking in consideration the frequency these shells are used in battle.

The damage of all HE shells will be increased by 75%. This should affect the effectiveness and popularity of all HE shells, both low and high calibre.
Damage drop in the splash radius will be corrected. Along the edge, it will change from 0.1 to 0.5. Also, damage distribution in the splash radius will be made evener. This change will improve the potential to deal damage when hitting external modules.
The probability of dealing critical damage to modules will be increased.
The angle of spall spread on damage to internal modules will be increased from 45 to 60 degrees.
Splash radius mechanics will be reconfigured to do more damage. This will be most noticeable for low-armoured vehicles.
Discrepancies in some HE shells’ damage numbers compared to version 1.5 (state of the game Sandbox is based on) will be fixed.

Please be aware, all values are a test and not final, meaning they might not come to the live server. Values are for the best gun on each vehicle and only for HE ammunition.

THIS IS CRAZY . STOP LETTING SMALL CALIBER GUNS DO MORE HE DAMAGE. This will lead to more HE spammed from every tank in the game. LEAVE HE AND HESH ALONE FFS. SO MUCH BIGGER ISSUES WITH THE GAME AND THIS IS WHAT THERE SPENDING THERE TIME ON.

Not sure what you’re looking at, but this is still a ~40% nerf to all HE compared to the live server. So there will be less HE spam outside of howitzer equipped vehicles, which rely on them to do any damage at all, and those tanks will become less effective. This still somewhat ruins vehicles like the KV-2, SU-152, and M4A1 (105mm), and IMO they were’t that toxic to begin with, as they rarely got a full pen from their shots, and were balanced based on pen, not alpha.

I just realized some vehicule changed tier ?!? Will this go live too ?
I loved the M7 at tier 5. I don’t play it anymore, but I wonder what will it look like on tier 4…
I don’t have the time to try it in the sandbox, did someone tried it ?

I really hope they dont screw up module damaging, would be sooo annoying to get your modules constantly damaged from he spammers. There is arty for that
