World of Warships – HMS Hood Stats Updated

Hello everyone,

HMS Hood, upcoming Tier VII British Premium Battleship got a few stats changed. I already have this ship to test, but it’s one of these “I’m not really sure how to work it out…” ships, and other Community Contributors have been saying the same.

Main Changes

  • Main Battery Firing Range changed from 17,57km to 18,57km;
  • Rudder shift time changed from 20.62 to 17.5;
  • 381mm AP ricochet angle changed to 60º/67.5º;

Other Changes

  • Hood can heal 60% of penetration damage except citadel hits. However, it does not increase the total amount of HP healed (14%) per consumable.
  • Hood’s Dual-purpose guns and medium-caliber AA guns no longer benefit from Defensive AA Fire consumable.
  • Hood 178mm rocket launcher only have 1.5 km firing range, but you can enjoy the buff from on large-caliber anti-aircraft guns and air defense skills.
  • Hood’s damage control, which is a general Battleship’s damage control for 15 seconds, is different from Warspite’s damage control; her Repair party consumable is also a general one, which means it couldn’t act like a Warspite’s repair party that can recover extra HP.

Clan Management

The update extends clan management options. The following will be available in the game client:

  • Distribute gold from the clan treasury
  • Change ranks of clan members in the game client
  • Transfer Clan Commander’s permissions
  • View detailed statistics of clan members

Improvements to Strongholds 1.6

The below awards that could be received for Stronghold-related activities up to version 9.17.1 were transferred to the Special category:

M4A3E8 Thunderbolt VII Coming to NA Server

Hello everyone,

I was digging around all the “hidden” changes for Update 9.18 and found the M4A3E8 Thunderbolt VII price had been updated to 3,450 Gold, a flag the tank was ready to be released. Then BTed72 sends me a message telling me to check the NA Portal latest news:

M4A3E8 Thunderbolt VII available from May 4 to June 5.

So the first “Ace Tank” that will be introduced in the game. What’s an “Ace Tank”? It’s a special Premium tank that celebrates a specific Ace Tanker, in this caset he Thunderbolt VII tank under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Creighton Abrams, the commander of the 37th Tank Battalion (subsequently a General and U.S. Army Chief of Staff). The vehicle was effectively the M4A3E8 Sherman tank with additional armor mounted in the field.

Hello everyone,

The following are unconfirmed dates, but we should expect them to be accurate as last time they were shared.

  • Update 9.19 Common Test First Iteration – 4th May 2017
  • Update 9.19 Common Test Second Iteration – 11th May 2017
  • Update 9.19 Release Date is set to end of May on Russian Server first, but no day has been revealed yet.

World of Tanks Q&A with DelhRoh #2

Q: We know that in the 9.18 Update crews will move with the tanks. “Fully-trained crews will be transferred back to the Barracks and re-trained to 100% for a new Tier.” But what happens if we don’t have enough bunks in our Barracks?

A: Crew will be moved to Barracks anyway.

Q: Taking into account the changes in penetration and the loss of HEAT/AP shells for the SPGs, why the 105 leFH18B2 and the Sexton didn’t change their parameters? Is it just because of the WG policy that prohibits to nerf premium vehicles (well, at least without a proper compensation)? Or there’s another reason? In any case, won’t that make them a bit OP?

A: We didn’t want to make any changes to premium vehicles.

Q: Do you perceive that the Stun mechanic is well-accepted in the forums?

A: This question is really hard to answer. Feedback from players is mixed, some players appreciate the SPG changes some not. From feedback of NA server, we found out that feedback changed to positive after couple days of update being live. Gameplay of SPG is now more enjoyable for SPG players and it’s less harming for players on the other side.

Q: Don’t you think you over-nerfed the AMX ELC bis? Same goes for the SP I C.

A: You have to take in count that the light tanks can be now the top tiers. Compared to old stats yes, they might seem over-nerfed, but due to all changes their performance should be in balance.

Q: I know it’s too early to tell anything like this, but would you consider eliminating the SPGs from the game if the new mechanics and limitations prove to fail?

A: We can never say never. But for now, we are not thinking about removing the SPG from the game.

Q: Aren’t you afraid that the players will start to camp even more with the new mechanics for the artillery?

A: No. The damage factor was always the biggest part of “fear factor” of SPG. Now you can easily get back into the battle after getting hit by SPG due to lower damage and reusable consumables.
