Supertest Leaks: Ho-Ri 2 and 1 (Japanese TD Branch) + TS-60

3 min read

Three more vehicles arrived on Supertest today, including two more from the upcoming branch of Japanese tank destroyers (with somewhat confusing names):

The Ho-Ri 1 and Ho-Ri 2 represent the new Japanese TD branch. Just like the top-tier TD, both vehicles have huge silhouettes, which means they have a very low concealment coefficient. This almost completely erases the opportunity of using these tank destroyers as ambush vehicles. However, thanks to good armor and a naval gun, which uses AP shells with high armor penetration parameters that serve as both standard and special ammunition, these vehicles can play both at medium and short distances, providing support to allied heavies.

Keep in mind that the mentioned vehicles feature the following:

  • Low top speeds, which means they can’t react quickly to changes in battle and switch flanks—you’ll need to plan your routes in advance
  • Weakly armored lower glacis that you need to hide using terrain or objects on the map

Ho-Ri 1 (Tier IX)

The Ho-Ri 1 is a new researchable Tier IX tank destroyer of the Japanese Tech Tree.

Its damage per shot is 650 HP. The standard shell has 290 mm of penetration, while the special shell penetrates 325 mm. The accuracy is 0.34 m, and the aiming time is 2.6 s. The reload time is 15.5 s.

The effective frontal armor of the hull and superstructure reaches 240 mm, and the durability is 1,800 hit points. Its gun depression angle is −7 degrees. The vehicle’s top speed is 32 km/h, while its specific power is 15 h.p./t. The view range is 390 m.

Ho-Ri 2

The Ho-Ri 2 is a new researchable Tier VIII tank destroyer of the Japanese Tech Tree.

It’s armed with a naval gun. The damage per shot is 400 HP. The standard shell has 250 mm of penetration, while the special shell penetrates 285 mm. The accuracy is 0.35 m, and the aiming time is 2.3 s. The reload time is 11 s.

The effective frontal armor of the hull and superstructure reaches 220 mm, and the durability is 1,400 hit points. Its gun depression angle is −8 degrees. The vehicle’s top speed is 30 km/h, while its specific power is 16.2 h.p./t. The view range is 380 m.

Keen-eyed readers have likely realized this means the branch (or what we know of it, thus far) progresses as follows:

  • from Ho-Ri 2 at tier 8,
  • to Ho-Ri 1 at tier 9,
  • then to Ho-Ri 3 at tier 10.

While somewhat confusing, this does at least appear to be accurate to the project names for these vehicles’ blueprint designs, however.

Naming scheme aside, the arrangement of these vehicles makes reasonable sense as far as these vehicles’ designs/visual appearances themselves are concerned. Still, it may take some getting used to once these vehicles appear in the game…

Beyond these two, one more vehicle appeared today:

TS-60

The TS-60 is a Tier IX American tank destroyer.

It can be said that the characteristic feature of this vehicle is its rear turret placement and turret traverse angle limited to 136 degrees.

The vehicle is well protected for its tier. The frontal hull and turret armor reach 120 mm and 300 mm, respectively. Its durability is 1,600 HP, the top forward speed is 35 km/h, and its specific power is 15.5 h.p./t.

It’s armed with a 120 mm gun. The damage per shot is 400 HP. Armor penetration with a standard shell is 258 mm, while penetration with a special shell is 320 mm. The reload time is 8 s. The gun has an accuracy of 0.42 m and an aiming time of 1.7 s.

The TS-60 is a well-armored vehicle with a handy gun. It can take on the role of a heavy tank and provide support to its allies.
