The VIII 🇨🇳 :HTelite:BZ-176 (tier 8 premium Chinese heavy tank, with rocket booster mechanics) has received some significant changes since last.

1. BZ-176 Changes in Update 1.18.1 Release Files

To start off with a relatively-minor change — in the Update 1.18.1 release files, the vehicle’s gun depression was nerfed slightly:

Firepower:

  • Gun depression: from -11 to:arrow_nerf:-10 deg

2. BZ-176 Changes in Third Supertest Iteration

However, some much more significant changes arrived for the vehicle in its third iteration on Supertest, including a complete overhaul of the gun, which now features a more “standard” shell loadout (:AP:AP/:HEAT_prem:HEAT/:HE:HE), along with a nerf to the vehicle’s top speed while using its rocket boosters:

Mobility:

  • Max. forward speed while boosting: from 52.5 to:arrow_nerf:40 kph

Firepower:

  • Dispersion spread from movement (max.): from 0.20 (6.00, 10.50 while boosting) to 0.20 (6.00,:arrow_buff:9.00 while boosting)

New gun parameters:

Standard Shell: :AP:AP

  • Armor penetration of :AP:AP shell: 230 mm
  • Armor penetration of :AP:AP shell at 500m: 218 mm
  • :AP:AP shell velocity: 900 m/s
  • :AP:AP shell damage: 650
  • Average damage per minute with :AP:AP shells: 1,627
  • Damage to modules: 203
  • :AP:AP shell cost: :credits:1,740

Special Shell: :HEAT_prem:HEAT

  • Armor penetration of :HEAT_prem:HEAT shell: 290 mm
  • :HEAT_prem:HEAT shell velocity: 550 m/s
  • :HEAT_prem:HEAT shell damage: 650
  • Average damage per minute with :HEAT_prem:HEAT shells: 1,627
  • Damage to modules: 203
  • :HEAT_prem:HEAT shell cost: :credits:7,200

:HE: HE Shell

  • Armor penetration of :HE:HE shell: 75 mm
  • :HE:HE shell velocity: 550 m/s
  • :HE:HE shell damage: 1,100
  • Average damage per minute with :HE:HE shells: 2,754
  • Damage to modules: 200
  • Damage radius of :HE:HE shell: 3.66 m
  • :HE:HE shell cost: :credits:1,450

3. BZ-176 Changes in Third Supertest Iteration

And finally (for the time being), very shortly after the previous two sets of changes were released onto Supertest, the vehicle received a fourth iteration of balance tweaks (all nerfs):

Firepower:

  • Dispersion from movement (max.): from 0.20 (6.00, 9.00 while boosting) to:arrow_nerf:0.25 (7.50, 11.25 while boosting)
  • Dispersion from turning the chassis (max.): from 0.20 (6.05, 0.91 while boosting) to:arrow_nerf:0.25 (7.56, 1.13 while boosting)
  • Aiming time: from 2.88 to:arrow_nerf:3.07 s
  • Accuracy at 100 m: from 0.38 to:arrow_nerf:0.40
  • Armor penetration of :AP:AP shell: from 230 to:arrow_nerf:208 mm
  • Armor penetration of :AP:AP shell at 500m: from 218 to:arrow_nerf:188 mm

All of the above changes reflect on the vehicle’s overall characteristics as follows:

All characteristics are with a crew trained to 100% and subject to change before the final release.

It appears Wargaming is paying very close attention to this vehicle’s performance on supertest right now, likely in preparation for its release as part of this year’s Large Holiday Boxes (as is tradition for headline premiums around this time of year) — however, note that the vehicle’s release has not been confirmed officially at this time.
