World of Warships Supertest: British Tier VIII Premium Cruiser Nottingham

Sorry for being dead during the last 2 months, I was in Costa Rica for work. Was expecting to be able to still post one or two articles but…  well, I just had far too much work. In any case, I am now back to business.

Historical background

Nottingham is based on a never-built British design of cruiser from the late 1920s by Sir George Thurston, a British naval architect. The main armament consisted of nine 203 mm guns in three triple turrets, all located at the front of the ship in a similar way to the Nelson-class battleships. It was completed by eight 102 mm guns as well as four triple 610 mm torpedo launches.

When it comes to Nottingham herself, she was slightly modified with the superstructure being brought more toward the rear rather than being right behind the third turret. The torpedo armament was also changed, being replaced by four quadruple 533 mm launchers.

Personal Opinion

Right now, Nottingham looks quite nice. A heavy cruiser with Short-burst Smoke and Repair Party as well as a 30 mm deck and great firing angles… yeah, that sounds pretty damn good on paper. If it wasn’t enough, her concealment is also great, and, combined with the fairly high speed, it will also make her a solid flanker.
