World of Warships: WoWs ShipBuilder
4 min readLadies and Gentlemen, I hope that you are all having a nice day. Sorry for the radio silence of the past few days, I was visiting my family that I didn’t see in ages. In any case, we are back today to talk about an amazing application that recently came to life, WoWs ShipBuilder (currently in version 1.1.0).
I will take this opportunity to thank Yesod30, Floribe2000, iTTou, ephrs, Shatricor, notyourfather, Yohane and all the other people who took part in its creation. You guys are awesome!
What is it?
This application is very similar to WoWs Fitting Tool for those who might know it. It’s a tool that allows you to have a look at the detailed parameters of all the ships present in the game. Unlike WoWs Fitting Tool, it even covers the Public Test client so that you can have a look at ships that were freshly announced and still not on the live client.
Once you select a ship, you can then work on builds, fiddle around with the various upgrades and skills and have a clear picture of how it would affect its parameters. You can visualize the in-game descriptions and modifiers of each skill, upgrade and flag by simply hovering your mouse on them.
You can also save the builds you created to have a look at them later or modify them based on new ideas that came to your mind.
The application also comes with complete ballistics and dispersion graphs and you are even able to make comparisons on the fly with the guns of other ships. It can be quite useful to make yourself an idea of what you can expect when passing from one ship to the other in a tech tree line.
As you can see, even though it’s still young, this small program offers a large panel of options to help you customize your ship and guide you with your choices of skills and upgrades.
As of right now, the tool is only available as a standalone program. To be honest, it does have its advantages as there is absolutely no lag when updating the stats of the ship after changing the build and unlike a website, it will never be down in case of server issues or if your internet died. As soon as an update is available, you will be able to download it when starting the program. Don’t worry, you won’t have to deal with annoying pop-ups to warn you about it the moment you start your PC.

You just need to download the file Setup.exe and then follow the instruction for the installation.

Helping to improve the program
The first one is to help the guys improve the program by either reporting bugs that you might find or proposing changes/additions that you would consider interesting.
This can be done in the “Issues” tab where you can either do a Bug report or a Feature request.
Translating the program in other languages
For now, the program is only available in English but soon, it will also be available in French, Dutch, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.

Donating to the program
The last way to support the amazing work of these guys is by making donations. As you might guess, storing the data for the program to work properly isn’t free. Every month, they have to pay for the server hosting. They want to keep the application completely clear of ads so any donation, as small as it can be will be welcome.

As I already said, the program is still really young and its creators are working hard on improving it, fixing bugs and making sure to offer you the best service possible. However, as young as it is, it’s already working great.
The simple fact that it also covers the Public Test client already made me fall in love with it as it will be a great complement to gamemodels3d and the datamining when writing articles on ships in supertest.
