World of Warships will have an open Technical Test for Update 0.6.6 to everyone who wants to give it a try. Details as follows:
Test starting 23 May at 18:30 CEST and finishing 24 May at 12:00 CEST (UTC +2)
Technical Test information:
- Only PvE mode will be available during the Technical Test as we are testing PvE server performance
- No special rewards will be given to Technical Test participants on the live server: As players are likely to encounter technical issues during the testing, we feel it would be unfair to set tasks for players to complete during this test—there will however be plenty of goodies to reward players for taking part in the upcoming Public Test!
Note: In order to proceed to the Technical Test, it is necessary to restart your launcher!
Why a Technical Test?
Very soon, as part of Update 0.6.6, we are going to release one of the largest features in 2017. This will be Scenarios, a battle type that includes a new game mode—Operations. In Operations mode, you will work as a team with your friends or other players against AI opponents. Operations will bring a lot of new features, such as new game mechanics, events, ships, land structures, and achievements!
After checking the scope of the accomplished work, we realised that this Update should be checked very thoroughly. You know that after Supertests, new updates become available for public testing. This time, we will add an additional stage: a Technical Test that starts before the Public Test, on the same server. Everyone can participate in this test, contribute to the game development, and try out Scenarios for themselves.
The Technical Test has a different goal than a Public Test. We need to check the game server settings and make sure that the large number of new features will not affect its efficiency. This means that the test participants might face performance issues and many bugs. After the technical test, Update 0.6.6 will be available for public testing. With your help, during the Public Test, we will be able to focus on minor issues and the balancing of Operations.
Now, let’s talk about the details!
To participate in the Technical Test, you will need the Public Test client. To download and install it, follow this link. If you already have the Public Test client, it will be updated after starting the Launcher.
The Public Test account (login and password) will be used for accessing the Technical Test client. If you don’t have a Public Test account, follow this link and create one.
Your mission for the Technical Test is to play the Scenarios battles with all appropriate ships (Tier V).
During the Technical Test, you might face different bugs and game performance issues—for example, ships ‘teleporting’, long response time, or other troubles. Inform us about all issues and bugs, specifying their exact time and your time zone in the corresponding forum topic!
During the Technical Test, Tier V ships, fast researching of the high Tier ships, 500,000,000 credits, 30,000 Doubloons, Signal Flags, and other resources will be added to your account so you will be able to test the Operations.
