World of Warships 0.8.2 Supertest: Royal Navy battleships changes, new maps, changes to Azuma’s anti-air and more.

7 min read

Ladies and Gentlemen, today we will have a look at the content that was announced with the recent dev blogs as well as the datamined information from the 0.8.2 client (there isn’t much though).

ST, Arsenal update

Starting with update 0.8.2 we’re planning to alternate the introduction of the new permanent camouflages for Molybdenum or Copper. In 0.8.2 update Black will get the new permanent camouflage “Marlin” for Molybdenum with the following bonuses:

3% to detectability range.
+4% to maximum dispersion of shells fired by the enemy at your ship.
+150% Experience per battle
+150% Free experience per battle
+150% Commander’s experience per battle
-10% ship’s post-battle service

Arsenal features new filters for searching ships: tiers, required resource, class, nation.

Also, Arsenal will be renamed to ‘Armory’.

Added new camouflage Stream Dream for official stream giveaways:

-3% to detectability range.
+4% to maximum dispersion of shells fired by the enemy at your ship.
+100% Free experience per battle
+20% Credits per battle

ST, Monarch and Conqueror rebalancing

Test versions of the ships Monarch and Conqueror will be added.

Both ships have very low citadel and this results in huge difficulty hitting it. Test ships will have their citadels placed higher. But the restoration of the casemate (non-citadel) damage increased from 60% to 75%. Also parameters of “Repair Party” were changed:

  • Healing increased from 0.5%/s to 0.6%/s for Monarch_T;
  • Consumable cooldown lowered from 180 s to 120 s.

While I’m happy about Conqueror, the fact that they are also trying this on Monarch is not really appealing me considering the fact that it’s among if not the weakest tier VIII battleship.

ST, new maps

Three new maps for tier VIII-X battles have been added to the game.

They don’t have names or a certain visual style yet, but you can already take a look at the location of the control points and Islands.

The first map is a group of medium-sized Islands located at a fairly large distance from each other. There are a lot of open spaces on the map and there are almost no Islands for cover in or near the caps.

In the eastern part of the second map, one control point is covered from the others by a chain of Islands, however these allows ships to move freely. Small groups of Islands on the 9-10 lines will help ships to provide flank cap control. A few small islands are located in the center. Their height allows players to fire over them. You will find several large Islands in the western part of the map. They will help to hide the ships entering and leaving the nearby control point.

The third map is a large chain of Islands of different sizes, located close to each other. Islands form a large bay around the control point in the eastern part of the map. Many Islands in the western and central parts of the map will allow you to secretly move and organize ambushes.

Maps are expected to go through several stages of testing and as a result, they can change significantly.

Please note that the information in the Development Blog is preliminary.

As of right now, these maps look relatively bland but let’s see what happens of them.

Unlisted changes to the Azuma anti-air

Now… you could almost consider it as a buff since the long range with much stronger flak has more action time and the short range is much more brutal. I leave it to you to decide.

Shimakaze “Rover” skin

shot-19.03.09_11.58.49-0371.jpg

I know that a lot of people are cold regarding these space skins but you have to admit that the design is very cool.

The skin gives the classic tier X permanent camouflage bonuses:

  • Detectability range by sea -3%
  • Dispersion of shells fired by the enemy attacking your ship +4%
  • Cost of the ship’s post-battle service -50%
  • Credits per battle +20%
  • XP per battle +100%

As for the price, it is 8 000 doubloons just like the other space camouflages at T10. There is also currently an option to get it in the Armory for Ironium.

Hindenburg “Century Hawk” skin

shot-19.03.09_12.24.12-0255.jpg

It is very similar to the skin of the Großer Kurfürst in terms of design.

The “Bionic” skins

This series of skins is available for the US heavy cruisers starting from Pensacola and the French cruisers starting from the La Galissonière.

Personally, except on the Henri IV where the design of the skin fits pretty well with the ship, I’m not a big fan of it. Something to note is that these skins are not like the space camouflages that are going full sci-fi. You can still see the “real” elements of the ships like the radars, fire directors, etc.

Pensacola “Bionic” skin

New Achievements

There are some achievements that you can recognize such as Dreadnought, First Blood, Double Strike, Close Quarter Expert but for the rest, I have absolutely no idea of what they are.

New Dogtags

The first 3 are definitely linked to the space battles but the last one seems to be bound to something else.

New Commanders

New containers

avia_part3_lootboxes.png

As of right now, it is unknown if there will be a premium version of this container or not.

This wraps up this article. As I said, there isn’t much datamined content that is relevant but I hope this article was still useful for you. Thank you for reading it.

  1. That last patch is going to be a community meet up patch, I know 100% that it will be given out at PAX East. Check the announcement page for the community event, for verification.

  2. The first time in 7 years I wont be able to attend PAX East, and they do this 😐
