Ladies and gentlemen, today is an important day as it starts my very first sponsoring!
As such, this article is brought to you by Genesis! Check out the link below to visit their catalog full of great accessories for gamers! Mice, keyboards, mousepads, gaming chairs, etc. I’m sure that you will find something interesting.
In the coming days, I will also release an article covering the stuff they sent me but so far, I’m really happy with these.
Ship review
So… the Weimar is yet another premium that can be summarized the following way: “Hey! You see [Insert the name of a ship present in the game]? What If it was armed with [Insert a model of turret with different caliber guns that may or may not be present in the game]?
Now, of course, in some cases such as the Mainz, the gun swaps have a historical basis but here… definitely not. The Weimar is a Yorck on which Wargaming slapped the turrets of a Leipzig-class cruiser (Nürnberg).
When it comes to Yorck herself, she is based on a preliminary design (Entwurf I/10) for the Deutschland-class. This design was armed with eight 210 mm guns in four twin turrets, 2 superfiring at the front and 2 superfiring at the rear.
For the classic reminder, this is a ship in testing, anything can change so don’t look at her like she would already be released.

The Armor
The armor of the Weimar is, as you could expect, almost the same as on the Yorck.
General armor protection:
Front and rear armor protection of the middle section
Citadel armor protection
Hidden armored deck inside the stern
Turrets armor protection
Personal opinion
Well… right now, if you listen carefully, you can hear the München crying in the background.
The Weimar has a shorter range and when her 15% Engine boost isn’t active, she is much slower. Her concealment is also nowhere near as good but then…. 50% more firepower, much better ballistic, better survivability as a whole, better torpedo armament, better maneuverability.
On paper, the Weimar just looks straight up overpowered with the firepower and mobility that she displays. I will wait to see her in action but I’m really expecting her to get nerfed soon.

Exactly my thoughts, that thing is bound to get a sledgehammer nerf
What this ship should get is cancelled. It’s completely pointless even if they nerf it into something balanced. Why does Germany need TWO Tier VII light cruiser premiums?
Guess this confirms the death of the German CL line as there are no longer anymore candidates for the branch anymore, since they have to make fake ships by combining real ideas now, something they did if a line lacked at least one or two candidates for a tier.
Looks like WoWS is going the path of WoT when it comes to development, killing off future lines for minor profits reducing the games longevity in the process.
I have never seen a CL line with the Germans. Because here a Big Cruiser Line (in German Panzerschiffe) would be more suitable. There are enough ships for this: Deutschland cl***, D cl*** cruiser, P cl*** cruiser…
Actually you are wrong, WG didn’t used Q cl***, OG Seydlitz design and autoloader 150 mm guns, So There’s actually possibility of T7 – T10 CL line. Q cl*** is slightly larger M cl*** CL also considered as modified M cl*** CL, Seydlitz supposed to have 55 caliber guns instead of 60 caliber that Mainz has, WG used C/41 autoloader guns on München’s testing last year, They can use said autoloader on T9 and T10, Elbing and Felix basically has CL turrets, just like Hindenburg WG can create full fabricated design for T10 with those turrets. So possibilty of German CL line still exists.
Please not that autoloader nonsense again or are there any sources for it? The cruiser Q is also not a real improvement on the M-Cl*** (only more range and air defense). And where does Fantasy Hindenburg CL turrets have? And no, because of that I don’t see a CL line and I don’t want to have more copy & paste and fantasy ships (nothing else would be your suggestion). A super cruiser line still makes more sense to me.
