Supertest: Dutch Tier I Cruiser Van Kinsbergen
2 min readHNLMS Van Kinsbergen was a unique sloop of the Royal Netherlands Navy. The ship was laid down in September 1937, launched in January 1939 and commissioned in August 1939.
The ship had a very active career and served during World War II. She took part in numerous operations going from simple escort duties to hunting and capturing enemy merchant ships.
Van Kinsbergen would survive World War II and in 1951, she was reclassified as a frigate with her four 120 mm main battery guns being replaced by two 102 mm guns. The ship was decommissioned in 1959 and sold for scrap in 1974.
In World of Warships, we are getting the Van Kinsbergen as she was during World War II even though she is lacking her 12.7 mm AA guns.
For the classic reminder, this is a ship in testing, anything can change so don’t look at her like she would already be released.

The Armor
Well, it’s a tier I so… not much armor to care about here.
Personal Opinion
I… guess that she looks decent. She has one of the largest HP pools at this tier as well as the highest speed but her long reload time could be an issue. Then again, who cares about a tier that you will, at best, play once every blue moon?
