Ranked Sprints are back!

2 min read

The update 0.7.12.0 is bringing back the freshly introduced Ranked Sprints with the 3rd and 4th season. Let’s see what they are bringing this time.

When are the different seasons starting?

Season 3: From 20/12/2018 till 01/01/2019

Season 4: From 02/01/2019 till 14/01/2019

The Rules

The rules actually changed a bit compared to the first 2 seasons. First of all, the Ranked Sprints will be played at Tier VI so no more Kamikaze or Giulio Cesare for you.
Other than that, the rules aren’t really different from the first iteration and are as followed:

  • The number of ranks is 10, which is less than in a regular season. The ranks are combined into two leagues: the first league is from Ranks 10 through 6, and the second league is from Ranks 5 through 1.
  • All players start battle in Rank 10.
  • Ranks 10, 9, 8, 5, and 3 are irrevocable. Players can’t lose stars in ranks 10 and 9.
  • By winning battles, players earn the stars needed to climb the ranking ladder. At the majority of ranks, a defeat means a lost star.
  • Players receive a bonus star for each new rank acquired.
  • The player with the most base XP in a team doesn’t lose a star upon a defeat.
  • Team lineups are mirrored in terms of ship types and tiers.
  • The Third season is played 5 vs. 5.
  • The Fourth season is played 7 vs. 7.

Divisions are still allowed with only 2 people in a division however, there can be only one aircraft carrier in the division and also the 2 players have to be in the same league.

The Maps

There will be a total of 7 maps this season and that includes a map we didn’t see in a long time: Riposte. Other maps are Big race, Ring, Strait, New Dawn, Trident and Fault Line.

On the Fault Line map, the following parameters are applied:

  • Number of key areas: 2
  • Key area capture time: 40 seconds
  • Points for holding key areas: 9 points per 10 seconds

Battles on the Big Race map will be played in “Epicenter” mode:

  • Zone capture time: 60 seconds
  • Points for holding a zone: 3 points per 4 seconds

On other maps, the following parameters will be applied:

  • Number of key areas: 3
  • Key area capture time: 40 seconds
  • Points for holding key areas: 3 points per 4 seconds
