World of Tanks: Update 1.5 is here!

World of Tanks Update 1.5 will be released to EU region, Thursday, 2nd of May. The vehicles for bonds feature has been postponed and will not be added in Update 1.5, but will come in the near future.

Release Note 1.5

1. WoT Premium Account

A new type of the Premium Account (WoT Premium Account/WoT PA) is introduced.

This type of the Premium Account works only in WoT. WoT Premium Account provides bonuses to experience, Crew Experience, and credits, as well as access to new functionality:

  1. Reserve Stock
    The Reserve Stock allows receiving extra 750,000 credits per week. An additional 10% bonus on top of the credits you earn in battles will fall into a special vault. Every 7 days, the vault will open, and all credits accumulated in it will be automatically moved to your account.
  2. Platoon bonus
    If at least one player in a Platoon has WoT PA, that player will earn +15% to credits for every battle. The one who doesn’t have WoT PA, will receive +10% to credits.
  3. Manageable bonus to XP
    Thanks to WoT Premium Account, players will be able to apply the x3 multiplier and increase the experience earned in their latest victorious battle. This x3 multiplier can be applied to the Battle Results five times a day.
  4. Premium missions
    Owners of WoT Premium Account will have the opportunity to complete a chain of 3 simple daily missions.
  5. All owners of WoT PA will have one more slot for map blacklisting, so they will be able to exclude 2 maps in total. As long as WoT Premium Account is active, the player will not fight on two excluded maps in the Random Battles (for Standard Battles only).

Specifics of the WoT Premium Account Release

All players will receive the same number of days of regular Premium Account, in the form of World of Tanks Premium account, on release day.

Both versions of the Premium Account will exist together, however WoT Premium Account will be active in the game client. Regular Premium Account can be active only if WoT Premium Account expires.

Related Game Client Changes

  1. The interface of the Player’s Account has been reworked. Now, a click on the player’s nickname in the Garage displays the Account Status interface, where a player will be able to view their current Premium Account status and go to the interface of the new WoT Premium Account options. The interface also allows managing Personal Reserves.
  2. Added explanations and descriptions for all new entities of the new WoT Premium Account, as well as management tools for them.
  3. The Platoon bonus of WoT Premium Account is now added to the existing bonus, when playing in Platoon.
  4. In the Store, players can purchase only WoT Premium Account.
  5. Regular Premium Account is no longer available for purchasing or receiving in the game client. Regular Premium Account will be replaced with WoT Premium Account through all aspects of the game, including: missions, events, Personal Missions, etc.

2. Grand Battles for Tier VIII Vehicles

  • The release of the Grand Battles for Tier VIII vehicles is postponed, since more time for tests is needed.

3. Excluded Maps

  1. Players can exclude one or two maps from the map list of the Random Battles.
  2. Standard Account allows excluding one map; WoT Premium Account allows excluding two maps.
  3. Excluded maps work only for vehicles of Tier IV or higher.
  4. Note that maps can be excluded only in the Random Battles mode (for the Standard Battle only). For example, a player excludes Siegfried Line but they will keep fighting on the map in the Assault and Encounter Battle types, if the corresponding options are enabled in the Settings.
  5. Maps of the Grand Battles cannot be excluded.
  6. Excluded maps can be changed when the 4-hour cooldown elapses.
  7. When playing in Platoon, the maps excluded by the Platoon Commander have the priority.

4. Vehicle Customization

Now paints can be applied to vehicles of all tiers.

5. Changes to the Stun Mechanics

  1. Additional stun duration (caused to vehicles that are already stunned) decreases in time by half.
  2. The Superheavy Spall Liner additionally decreases duration of repeated stuns by 20%; the Heavy Spall Liner decreases it by 10%.
  3. The minimum stun duration of all SPGs in the game has been reduced by 5% of the maximum stun duration.
  4. The damage at the edge of the burst radius has been changed from 0.15 to 0.05 for all HE shells (SPGs and other vehicles firing HE shells). It results in a damage re-calculation within the burst radius. Damage caused by indirect hits of HE shells decreases. Stun duration also decreases. These changes will insignificantly affect direct hits of HE shells.

6. Vehicles for Bonds

The vehicles for bonds feature has been postponed and will not be added in Update 1.5. We will keep working on the feature within the future updates, so stay tuned for the news on the game portal.

8. Known Issues

  • Players can re-train crew members to special vehicles that are currently not available in the game.
  • There is no protection from spam-clicking on the minimap.
  • Vehicle type icons in the extended vehicle panels do not change their color dynamically, when selecting the Colorblind mode in battle.
  • Disabled free crew retraining to vehicles of the same type.
  • When a player destroys a vehicle by overturning it, this vehicle is not counted towards the total number of vehicles the player destroyed.
  • The notification about base capture is displayed before the required number of capture points is accumulated.
  • The order of events for received damage is sometimes mixed up in the damage log.
  • The text of Mission conditions is not displayed in the congratulation window, provided that the required vehicle type is specified in the Mission conditions.
  • The client cannot be maximized to the full-screen mode, provided that the player is having a Skype call.
  • The vehicle tiers in the screen displayed upon pressing TAB are not centered relative to the vehicle icons.
  • When a vehicle hits the ground without damaging modules, the sound of taking damage is played.
  • Shaking aiming circle in the 16x and 25x magnifications in the Siege Mode during the Frontline battles.
  • Events at the end of the battle are not synchronized with the text of the battle result.
  • In some cases, automatic repair/replenishment of ammo and consumables after a battle does not take place, when the amount of credits on the account is sufficient.
  • The reticle indicator remains on the SPG after switching to the Artillery mode, if a vehicle partially intersects the red line.

9. Fixed Issues

  • Fixed the issues of the shaking camera in the Sniper mode when switching between the drive modes (Swedish TDs).
  • When completing a Personal Mission for setting an enemy vehicle on fire, the indicator works properly.
  • Fixed the issue, when the stun duration indicator was not displayed after a hit of the Airstrike.
  • The Battle Results of a Frontline battle can be displayed upon a right click.
  • Fixed the issue, when stunning was erroneously counted in the Personal Missions for damaging the internal modules.
  • The autoaim on the wheeled vehicles now locks on a target behind a transparent fence.
  • When a spotted enemy vehicle gets stunned, becomes no longer visible, and the stunned player uses a First Aid Kit, while still unspotted, then the stun indicator is not displayed above this vehicle to its opponents when spotted again.
  • Fixed the issue of the shaking reticle indicator on the terrain irregularities.
  • Fixed the description of the reward vehicles in the game client.

  1. what i don’t like is the unnecessary nerf of the O-Ni and O-Ho with no buff to compensate for them getting fucked up AGAIN, there’s never been a single buff to the tech tree and once again wg messes with a tank that can go 1 V 1 with a T8 russian tank and beat it into the ground. And yes i LOVE the nerfs to the Type 4/5 but they didn’t have to flat out nerf the entire line

    1. The fake Jap HE spam HTs are retarded and should be nerfed MORE across the board.
      fake and didnt exist
      wouldnt IRL due to wieght and other issues
      breaks gameplay
      doesnt require angling or any skill to drive
      doesnt require aiming or any skill to shoot
      breaks all game mechanics like side scraping , hull down etc as they are useless against HE
      ruined the meta along with other over armoured vehicles like bobject etc

      worst game mechanic introduced since someone thought arty with indirect fire and a satellite view in WW2 / post WW2 era game was a good idea.

  2. No tanks for bonds or new camo styles. The so called new ones at least on NA are old ones prepacked. I like the premium time missions for bonds and credits the multiplier is nice. The fv 4005 is now the worst tanks and the type 5 heavies durp is useless. The new Swedish mediums tier 8 and 9 are good just elited all 3 , but very upset they told us tanks for bonds this patch now its not there and how eu and ru get new camo styles again and we don’t.

  3. Hi harkonnen, what do you think about the WG retreat on nerfing the 430 and 430U? Has it been announced on the EU server yet or just hidden on the ruskie server.

    1. It’s still “hidden” from other regions. The only official article is in the RU one, mainly because the community there was going nuts about them nerfing those two tanks. From what I know, they will still change them, but in a different way… I would prefer they buffed other vehicles to 430U level, instead of nerfing them.

      1. I agree. But it is still a bit cowardly of them. They know there is an issue and it should be dealt with. And the nerfs were hardly crippling anyway. Its a shame because with proper balance WOT would be so much better.

  4. When is the date for the WOT PA to be released? And I cant see the new swedish mediums in the tech tree yet. Is there a date for them as well?

  5. The firing range of the Conqueror Gun Carriage SPG was also drastically reduced in update 1.5 but Wargaming kept this a secret. Why? Did they think we wouldn’t notice?
    The draconian nerf of artillery view range perpetrated in update 0.9.18 is extremely unfair. In the end game, when an SPG has to transform into a TD, it now has No Chance. View range should be restored for all arties to what it was in 0.9.17.1.
