World of Tanks Supertest: Caernarvon AX – Tier VIII – Premium Heavy Tank

2 min read

Yet another Tier VIII Premium enters Supertest: Caernarvon AX. This British heavy tank will continue the same play-style of other British heavy tanks, medium mobility, decent turret armour and good gun parameters. Caernarvon AX looks almost like an improved FV201 (A45).

Wargaming introduced eighteen Tier VIII Premium tanks to Supertest, just in 2017. Do we need more Tier VIII Premium tanks in the game? I would expect to see even more in the near future, as Wargaming has plans to introduce at least one Tier VIII premium tank to every branch.

  1. Some of tier 8 premiums are needed. Like this one or premium lights. Players have been righfully asking for tier 8 british premium heavy for years. However we don’t need more premiums where there are already plenty of alternatives to choose from like STG.

    1. “Caernarvon with more armour”

Ummmm… no, Caernarvon has way more armor. The only thing better about the FV201 is DPM due to it’s rate of fire. I am looking forward to this tank since the FV201 has become practically useless as patches have been released.

    2. Fv201 needs an upper plate buff though, its a heavy tank with pretty much no hull armour anywhere. I still use it as a crew trainer, but I wouldnt say its very good…

    3. I have that, the tank itself is fine at tier 7, but the gun is severely lacking.

Does make for challenging gameplay though.

  2. People aren’t going to be excited about this tank if it has the 20pdr; needs something else to differentiate it from the Caernarvon and other tier 8 heavy premiums. Maybe it will be medium tank level expensive, $32-35, instead of $50.

    1. Current Caernarvon has 20pdr!!! It’s getting a 32pdr to get to a better “level”… now WG introduces the “old” Caernarvon as a Premium with extra plates at the turret 😀

    2. that’s weird in terms of stats, ugly in terms of visuals.. and its sad, cause the brits needed a proper premium heavy

    1. I completely agree with You, the 105mm L7 cannon would be a great addition to this tank. It would help with some variety rather than using the same old gun as the normal Caernarfon.
