The “Awful” Panther has received a small update today on Supertest. The concept stays the same, a large lightweight tank with a comfortable gun. I’ve updated the article with the new stats and variance.
A project for a heavy reconnaissance vehicle based on the Panther tank. The use of the hull and chassis of the existing tank would have significantly facilitated the mass production of the new vehicles; a small turret would have decreased the weight and improved the manoeuvrability of the vehicle. However, the project was discontinued at a development stage.
Aufklärungspanzer might be making a return, but according to some Russian sources, it won’t be as sold as Premium vehicle but there isn’t any confirmation if this will be some sort of Reward tank.

Harkonenn, could you ask WG why they sudennly stopped counting extra tracks as armor?
It is very unfortunate like this. You can’t know if you should avoid shooting tracks or if it doesn’t matter. In my opinion they should either count them everywhere or nowhere.

Looks pretty decent actually. Loving the combination of mobility and APCR standard ammo. A little but of armour also helps. I really think this tank could work really well in tier 8 team games looking at it right now.
Any hint when this beauty will be in the shop?
Won’t be sold as a premium tank?… So it’s either a new mission campaign reward or a marathon reward, either way, I want it!
Not bad pen or DPM. It’s actually a decent light. I suspect with that weight and power to weight. It will still be a valid ramming tool.

I don’t like where these changes are going. Aufklärungspanzer Panther always was low alpha high rof dpm monster. They are turning it to german LTTB.
Are you bragging here or what? It is not purchasable for others who don’t have it. And why would it even matter? Soviets have 6 tier 8 premium heavy tanks.
Yes it seems this tank will be just a german lttb. So boring, they could have created something different.
Not a good change, I say. 7,5 cm gun with 180 damage? No Sir, I’d prefer to the old concept of a high RoF, low alpha LT. This just doesn’t feel right for a german tank.
