Wargaming announces decision to leave Russia and Belarus
2 min readWargaming has announced its decision to leave Russia and Belarus. Over the past weeks, Wargaming has been conducting a strategic review of business operations worldwide. The company has decided it will not own or operate any businesses in Russia and Belarus and will leave both countries.
Effective March 31 the company transferred its live games business in Russia and Belarus to local management of Lesta Studio that is no longer affiliated with Wargaming. Wargaming also announce they will not profit from the process at any stage, and they expect to suffer substantial losses as a direct result of the decision.

I strongly believe this decision was made in order to separate Wargaming as a company into a similar structure currently in place for the Chinese market. This way, Wargaming can continue to work in the Russian and Belarus markets, but in a completely separate and independent way.
We currently do not have any details of what impact this will have on World of Tank’s development. Wargaming Minsk offices were World of Tanks headquarters where all development was held and planned for the game. The Supertest program was also managed from Minsk, so we have no idea what impact this will have on the Supertest program, if it will continue to be Russian access only or if we are still going to be able to get any leaks from sources like WOT Express and other Russian blogs.
No more russian bias??
So, does that mean that the CIS region servers will no longer be wargaming’s?
Das Spiel bleibt erhalten? Oder gibt es in DE irgendwelche Auswirkungen ?
PERO ENTONCES POR CUALQUIER COSA QUE RUSIA VAYA A TOMAR LA DECISION DE QUITARNOS LOS TANQUES RUSOS DE EL JUEGO QUE PASARA
So they are leaving Russia to move to Lesta…which is Saint Peterborough…also known as Leningrad…which is in…wait for it….Russia. BIG surprise….
The profit from CIS region is enough to keep the lights on for wargaming dev HQ.
Expect nothing and all token gestures
