Update 1.6: Manticore Changes Incoming
2 min readThe British light tanks aren’t impressing anyone. Majority of Community Contributors and many players consider them the worse tanks ever to be introduced to World of Tanks.
Fear not, they might be bad, but at least one is getting less bad. Manticore, the Tier X vehicle is getting some changes already on the second iteration of Common Test. But will this be enough and will the developers improve the branch in time to be released in a few weeks? Check the changes below.

laughable buffs, still not sure what kinda round hole they’re trying to shove this square peg still
That’s it???
Lol – a whopping 4 additional shells. But hey, that’s an +25% increase, right XD
Hmmm very suspect if you ask me.
Take a lot, give a little
That’s WG for ya.
That’s the most garbage “buff” I’ve ever seen. They still didn’t address the fact that the British lights do NOT have higher alpha than the rest, do NOT have better spotting capacity than the rest, do NOT have much better camo than the rest.
you guys better be careful what you say. wargaming banned my chat in game forever. for calling them liars .
Yeah, you’re right 🙂
I was kinda surprised that Wargaming is trying something new in form of something like “p***ive light scout branch”. I understand that active scout role is not fitting to all players and in my opinion such line makes sense. Low profile, great camo, great view range, slowly firing sniper guns with higher alpha. But what they actually did is something different. I still hope for major changes to make this line playable.
Underwhelming
Um, they slightly upped the RoF and shell count, slighlty improved gun-handling and drastically improved power to weight. The tank still does not have superior alpha, still does not have superior stealth, still has no sniper-gun and still has not great viewrange.
yea, because p***ive scouting in a game where 80% of the maps are 2 or 3 way corridor maps really suits this dumpster fire of a light tank. If a light tank cant actually fight when it has too, then its trash.
They didn’t touch the ROF
Ot’s like playing even worse T92 😀
Hey there
Did you make a mistake? the manticore in the first iteration had around 20% base camo. Here it says 36%!!! This would be outstanding and a very needed and well placed buff!
P***ive scouting has been outmoded for years. Modern scouts are active, p***ive, and actively contributing to damage. All British light tanks are one trick ponies, stealth. They will be defenseless against ebrs and russian lights and even the ****ty non meta light tanks. How hard is it to see they need a fast shooting high velocity gun and the ability to fire on the move?
Flat out embarr***ing
British LT’s will suffer PZ1c’itis. As in, 2 man crews, getting hit by EBR’s HE, let alone other high pen HE shells like the Sconq/T95/RHMPZ/Cent AX…and a 600 hp Manticore is dead.
Sorry, but this is quite pathetic. Granted, it gives the Cromwell some purpose again for 60-70k XP, but seriously pathetic.
Wargamming would never release a Russian tank with such poor stats – ah that’s it, not Russian
I’d rather have them have high alpha (500+) and slower reload. Just to have something new and unique. Too many tanks all have the same attributes and have the same style of play. I want more variety.
I think Wargaming just doesn’t get it. 20 rounds is still pathetic for 390 alpha. If that’s the ammo count it’s going to have, then it should have 500 alpha at least. Too many tanks all play the same, I want something unique.
