Update 1.16: Common Test is Here!

The first Common Test of Update 1.16 has started, try out the third (and final!) Season of Ranked Battles 2021–2022. You can also test various balance improvements on the Siegfried Line, Ghost Town, and Erlenberg maps, as well as the addition of the Assault mode to several Random Battles locales. Battle Pass Season 7 details will be released at a later iteration, either CT2 or CT3.

Map Balance Improvements

Three Random Battle maps were improved to address several minor issues we’ve noticed with them.

Siegfried Line

  • A position with a bunker for the lower team has been added, allowing you to control the field and the passage in the town as you would from the position of the upper team.
  •  Improved the entrance to the town for the lower team, as well as for the attackers in Assault Battles.
  • Driving through the ruins is now smoother and more comfortable.
  • The position for defence in the town for the lower team has been improved.
  • Removed several trees that allowed opponents to fire at the lower team without being spotted.
  • Changed the location of the spawn points in Assault Battles so that the attacking team can better control most of the map.

Erlenberg

Encounter Battles will be unavailable for this map. We also made the following minor adjustments for Standard and Assault Battles on this map to balance the gameplay possibilities for both teams:

  • Part of the building below has been removed to increase communication between the sides.
  • The house model below has been replaced to minimize long-range firing at those crossing the river.
  • Balance changes have been made to make your gameplay more comfortable in several positions.

Ghost Town

In Assault Battles, the location of the base to be captured has been changed. Plus, the ground surface was levelled under the unfinished building below. This change is also relevant for Assault Battles.

The following maps now support Assault Battles:

  • Redshire
  • Steppes

On some of these maps, one of the defenders’ spawn points is not marked on the minimap, as it coincides with the location of the base. The same goes for the attackers: If only one point is depicted on the minimap, then the whole team will spawn there.

Test the Final Season of Ranked Battles 2021–2022!

During this Common Test, the third (and final!) Season of Ranked Battles 2021–2022 will be available in a test format. It will feature a short progression system, after completing which you’ll be able to try out the Improved Reward screen for selecting pieces of improved equipment as part of the Annual Reward.

Main Changes

The visuals and sound effects of shots, hits, and reloading for guns of the same type have been adjusted—they are now the same. Gun parameters remained unchanged.

Map Changes

Erlenberg Map Improvement

  • The Encounter Battle mode has been removed due to a strong imbalance of the sides.
  • Balance changes have been made to Assault and Standard Battles to balance the capabilities of the teams.
    • Terrain on positions in square E5 is now playable.
    • A part of a building has been removed to increase interaction between the teams in square F6.
    • The house model has been replaced to minimize long-range fire at vehicles crossing the river at square E7.

Siegfried Line Map Improvement

  • Balance changes have been made to Assault and Standard Battles to balance the capabilities of the teams.
    • A position with a bunker in square H6 for the lower team has been added to facilitate control of the field and the passage in the town similarly to the position of the upper team.
    • The entrance to the town (in square G6) for the lower team, as well as for the attackers in Assault Battles has been improved.
    • In square F6, a pile of debris that covers vehicles from opponents which drive uphill has been added.
    • Driving through the ruins in square F5 is now more comfortable.
    • The defensive position in the town (square F7) for the lower team has been improved.
    • Several trees in square C6 have been removed because they allowed opponents to fire at the lower team without being spotted.
    • The terrain of the central entrance to the town in square F5 has been changed to provide cover for the lower base team.
    • The location of the spawn points in Assault Battles has been changed. The attacking team can better control most of the map.
    • In Assault Battles, the location of the base has been moved toward square E9.

Ghost Town Map Improvement

  • In Assault Battles, some map changes have been made to balance the capabilities of the sides.
    • The location of the base has been changed toward the urban area in squares E7, F7.
    • The shape of the building has been changed and the pit has been removed in squares E6, F6.

The following maps now support Assault Battles:

  • Redshire
  • Steppes

Ranked Battles

  • The reward screen for selecting pieces of improved equipment has been enhanced.
  • The Ranked Battles Season will be available in a test format during the Common Test until February 7 (07:00 UTC+8).

Changes to Technical Characteristics of the Following Vehicles

U.S.S.R. 

  • The following vehicle has been added: T-44-100 Igrovoy
  • The following vehicle has been added for testing by Supertest players: K-2.

Czechoslovakia 

  • The following vehicle has been added for testing by Supertest players: ShPTK-TVP 100.

  1. What is wargaming taking or smoking ? When will they introduce the last year Recon maps to the game????

  2. In one of the previous battle p*** related articles you mentioned that Frontline will be a way of earning battle p*** points. Does that mean that you know for sure it won’t be Steel Hunter, or were you just guessing?
