Supertest: UDES 16 Swedish Medium
2 min readThe UDES 16 was a further development of the UDES 14 E2 project by Hagglunds and will be the upcoming Tier IX Swedish medium tank.
The vehicle had to have a low silhouette and be armed with a 10,5 cm gun with an automatic loading system. In 1974, the development of the vehicle was combined with a proposal of the company Bofors, which resulted in the UDES 15/16. No prototypes were built. Please note the Tier IX vehicle stats are still very early, Wargaming has advised these are not final but just a test. The likelihood the vehicle is changed is very high, so expect some changes in the near future.

Seems like a the swedish TDs, but it has a turret, goot DPM, no armor, pretty good mobility, good camo and good depression/elevation angles
Those nice curves are pointless, since the armor is only up to 18 mm. And the HP of 1500 is too low, it should be at least 1600.
The Tier IX stats are very very early. Wargaming isn’t sure what the final ones will look like so they used these ones to give a general test to the vehicle.
Considering how insane that gun is on a T9 medium (highest base penetration and DPM at T9) and that it has double the camo rating of the T-54; I think you it’s fair to make some extreme sacrifices. Obviously we can’t make major judgements until we know the gun stats within the siegemode.
308 pen ? not likely for any medium, in addition the armor is way too low. The video presenting them said good turret protection and i don’t belive the hull to be an auto-pen-zone – yes i know test values but still way off
Personally, I’d go even further and say they’re placeholder stats.
Should have waited until proper stats were released instead of posting early placeholder stats
We should count soft-stats also, moving good but bad aim when moving like CDC then not good, because we always need stable body before shot, enemy can counter shoot very soon.
Ya these seem super placeholder, especially the armor and gun stats.
WG have said that the only thing you will get in siege mode will be depression and elevation, there wont be changes to the gun handling like we see with the TD’s
