Return of the Waffenträger: Rewards and Lootboxes

3 min read

The Waffenträger is back and the event will bring back the usual lootboxes, or Engineer’s Starters, as Wargaming calls them. During the event, you will be able to claim 3,000 Bonds as a Reward, if you are collecting them to get any vehicle from the Bond Shop or new Bond Equipment, this is a good opportunity to boost your amount of bonds.

The Collection

The Return of the Waffenträger progression involves assembling the Harriers’ Collection and the Engineer’s Collection with different elements, and it consists of four Stages. Upon collecting a certain number of elements and reaching each Stage. To fill the event progression meter and grab all the event rewards, you need to complete both Collections.

Every customization item in both Collections is unique, each one will drop just once. The Collections include styles, camos, emblems, inscriptions, decals, and, of course, the Harriers and Max von Krieger himself. These characters will become your crew members and come with exclusive voiceovers.

Each Harriers’ or Engineer’s Collection Item adds 1 Point to the event’s main progression meter. Completing each Stage of the main progression will yield you prizes, with the total reward being 3,000 bonds. At Stage 20 and 30, players will also receive one and three Engineer Starters respectively.

Dimension Gates and Rewards

There will be two different starters to use in the Dimension Gate. The Harriers Starters, a free lootbox, or key, players will receive for completing missions while playing as Harriers Squad vehicles. The Harrier Starters will allow you to activate the Harriers Gate that will give you a chance of dropping a unique Harriers’ Collection Item or a guaranteed prize from the following list:

  • Credits
  • Personal Reserves
  • Days of WoT Premium Account
  • Consumables
  • Demounting Kits
  • Garage slots

The second starter is called Engineers Starter, these are the commonly paid lootboxes with a small difference this time: Wargaming will give players the opportunity to earn them for free by completing missions. How hard these missions will be, no one knows for now, but count these will be hard to make sure you keep playing World of Tanks during the event. Wargaming doesn’t give something easily for free

Upon activation, the Engineer’s Gate will bring you a guaranteed item from the following list:

  • Gold
  • Credits
  • Personal Reserves
  • Days of WoT Premium Account
  • Demounting Kits
  • Crew Books

But, there are more items that can drop if, as Wargaming puts it, “the stars are aligned”, meaning, if you are lucky enough or you wish to gamble your money away. These items include the following:

  • Special custom looks and decals not included in the event Collections
  • Striking Harrier-themed 3D styles for the Object 140, Bat.-Châtillon 25 t, or M48A5 Patton
  • One of the Tier VIII Premium Vehicles:
    • ASTRON Rex 105 mm
    • T77
    • Lansen C
    • ISU-152K
    • Turtle Mk. I
    • EMIL 1951
    • M41D
    • LT-432
    • E 75 TS
    • Centurion Mk. 5/1 RAAC
    • T26E4 SuperPershing
    • CS-52 LIS

Get the New Premium for “Free”

There will be a third gate called Vehicle Gate. This gate requires 60 Engineers Starters to activate, but it will guarantee you will receive the ASTRON Rex 105 mm, a brand-new Tier VIII Premium American medium tank. But if you get this tank from the Engineer’s Gate before that, the Vehicle Gate will become inactive.

So, this is just a way for those who want to splash cash to Wargaming and get the new tank guaranteed and quickly, or if you somehow manage to collect 60 Engineers Starters and really want that new tank, you can get it for free.

Are you going to spend any cash in the event to get that Astron tank? Do you think Wargaming is going too far with gambling in the game? We all know Wargaming excuse is as always “no one forces you to buy these”, but the predatory tactics on FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) is becoming a constant in the game. Let us know your opinion in the comment section.

Do you think Wargaming is going too far with gambling in the game? Yes

We all know Wargaming excuse is as always “no one forces you to buy these”, but the predatory tactics on FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) is becoming a constant in the game. Yeah it’s seen very clearly with them spamming event after event after event and spamming new premium offers on the main page almost every single day.

  2. EA found similiar pushback that WG will begin to face more and more about loot boxes.
Spend cash? No…I’m done doing that
Are they going to far? Oh yeah…and it’s gonna be interesting to see how it settles.

  3. I dropped “need to grind/buy my way through the event” years ago. And i noticed that during event i actually play even less than i would normally have. And while i do understand those who say, that top rewards should be given for certain amount of effort, i often skip entire event because i know i won’t get said reward. I wonder how many more people play less rather than more because of events like this.

  4. what tanks can i use for getting the starter key if i dont whant to pay for one ? it say all my tanks is not sutebiel !

  5. I made the stupid error of spending 40,5 euros and buying tyhe Big Engineers’s bundle.
    I had in return 1500 gold, 1 700 000 credits, 7 days of premium, a lot of decals … AND A ****ING M41 !!!!!
    Do not buy this ****.

  6. Actually, they did go to far with gambling. But now at least you have a chance to NOT go for the gamble and get it.

So, in genera. This feedback was 100% in the p***ed and I said the same, but it isnt really right now. Because you can get everything you can gamble for also buy not gambling and just buying it.
