Patreon: Thank you for Your Support & Update from Myself

4 min read

When I started The Daily Bounce, at no point I ever imagined we would have over 150,000 monthly readers and I would ever need your help to keep the blog going. As times change, it became a necessity that readers help me to keep the blog alive. For that, I have set up a Patreon page, for all those of you who would want to help, they could do it in your own terms.

A couple of months have passed and now I have a clear plan to what I want to do with Patreon and how to give you some extra goodies. After all, you are helping me, you deserve something back. To start, a special thank to all of you who already have become a patron. With your help, I will make sure the blog will be running and bringing you the latest news.

Why support us on Patreon?

We have always only made enough to cover the expenses and to give a little help to some of our authors. Now we face a scenario where we can’t even pay for the expenses, let alone help the authors

With your help, we will be able to keep the blog running and do even more things. We aim to have an online shop with exclusive products for Patrons, where you can get them with significant discounts or even for free.

Without your support, we won’t be able to continue our work. Please consider supporting us.

An Update from Harkonnen

You might have noticed some changes when it comes to posting news, especially in World of Tanks. Unfortunately, posts are arriving a bit late and there aren’t as many as before, but there are a few reasons for that. All of you who know me to a more personal level, know that I’ve been facing a few personal problems and challenges but I wasn’t open to everyone about that. After some thought, I’ve decided it would be better if I explained to everyone what is going on, after all, I used to do it when I started the blog, so why stop now.

First and foremost, the biggest problem I’m facing right now is with my youngest daughter. She was born with an ovarian cyst and what we thought it wouldn’t be a problem, it became a big one. Unfortunately, even after the best expectations from the doctors, the cyst wasn’t absorbed like 98% of the time that this happens, and it has now become dermoid. There’s a huge risk of rupture and serious consequences if this happens, so I and my wife were advised that we should proceed to a surgical procedure as soon as possible. Because there is a long waiting list on the NHS, we decided to activate our health insurance to get this sorted out quickly, and here is where the problems really started. They don’t want to cover for the procedure and we have been fighting to what we think it’s fair and it’s still an ongoing battle.

The second problem, it’s to do with my mental health. For quite some time now, I’ve been under a lot of stress and pressure at work and outside of it. This leads to me not really having the mental capacity to deal with World of Tanks and its problems, or even playing the game. All I want is to get home, have some time with my girls and enjoy everything outside the Wargaming world, meaning that news are coming out and I don’t really care much if I post them on time or not.

At the end of July and for the better half of August, I was on holidays in Portugal and I didn’t take any measures to ensure news were posted, and that all of you were kept informed with what was going on. Before, this would be a priority for me, making sure things were posted on time, that if I was absent I would inform you and take the necessary precautions to minimize the impact of my absence.

Unfortunately, with recent issues and pressures my mental health status isn’t getting any better, but at least isn’t getting worse. All I need is time, to relax, to reflect and to gain my strength back. I know I’ve let some of you down, even disappointing others to the point they fell the need to send me messages with insults and even worse. Don’t worry, I don’t hold a grudge against any of you who did that, but that tells a lot about some people out in this world.

Nonetheless, I am trying to get things back in order and hopefully, by Christmas we can have a better and improved blog. I’m sorry if I’ve let you down at some point or stage, but at least now you know some of the issues I’ve been facing and why things have changed a bit. As always, have a great day and always stay positive and remember: enjoy your time outside of the virtual world.

  1. Don’t worry about the blog, real life is more important especially in a situation you are facing. I wish both your daughter and you a quick and painless recovery.

  2. Take your time. I hope you manage to disconnect from the gaming world and its often harsh community. Avoid this soul grinder for as long until it fills you with joy and energy again, instead of frustration and stress. Don’t put your mental and social peace behind pixel tonks.
All the best to you and your family.

  3. Mate, while your blog was and still is one of the best out there, there is at least a decent alternative to it.

What is more important, your life outside WoT should always come first. If anyone doesn’t understand that… their loss. At the end of the day, this is just a game. Your family and health (and theirs) should always come first.

I can only wish you the best and that your problems will sort out somehow. Thank you for everything you’ve done and i hope to hear better news in the future.

  4. Thank you for the update and please focus on you and your family. To those who send hate, it will only consume them and their sad little lives.
    Keep up the great work.

  5. Thank you so much for opening up to us. I know it is hard to do. Things might be really hard for you right now but I hope everything will get better soon. Please take time as much as you need. I wish for your daughter a speedy and painless recovery.
