World of Tanks: T26E3 Cologne – Gamescom Special Premium Tank

2 min read

Gamescom 2018 is coming up at the end of August and it might reserve a few surprises for World of Tanks. One of them will be the upcoming Premium American medium T26E3 Cologne or T26E3 Eagle. The final name might change, but this tank was already added to the game files and there are several clues to guess this vehicle will come during Gamescom.

To start you will notice the serial number at the front: 30119836. You might not recognize the number but I’m sure many of you have seen this tank on Youtube before. T26E3 Pershing 30119836 was of the 32nd Armor Regiment, 3rd Armored Division and saw action in Cologne 6 March 1945, also known as Cologne Tank Duel. This tank was commanded by Sgt. Robert Early and destroyed the Panther on the Cathedral plaza in Cologne.

From here we just need to look at the visuals, the tank is almost identical to the famous Pershing you can see in pictures and video and make our own conclusions. Gamescom is in Cologne, so we really might be looking at a special Premium tank dedicated to the event.

Introducing a Premium tank with a very interesting history attached to it is quite nice, but its yet another American Premium tank added to the game. Could this be a good alternative to other American Premiums? That will depend entirely on your preferences and if you are looking to play with a Pershing at Tier VII, this vehicle might be for you. Just have a look at its characteristics and let me know what do you think: Is is it OK for it’s Tier? Do you like to see tanks with such history in the game?

  1. I saw these news a month ago, counting the days since then. I’m disguisted of Tier 8, so a Tier 7 premium Pershing with historical ties. I want it.

  2. 390 spotting range on a tier 7 medium. Meanwhile the EVEN90 gets 380 one tier higher as a light tank and the tier 10 lights get less as well. Balance comrade Da Da!

  3. At first I thought “ugh, another Pershing…” but then I saw it’s tier 7…so that might be interesting, actually.

  4. 172 on tier 7 isn’t that bad. There are tier 8 heavies with about the same pen.

  5. 172 pen with that firepower, depression and handlng is pretty good among tier7 mediums, get it? God d*** n***.

  6. the T26E3 was a CW reward tank with PMM, this tank has a 76mm gun with just 149mm pen and 115Damage. Worse armor and potential damage, but better mobility. The T23E3 Eagle 7 will have regular MM for sure.

  7. it would be better to sell skins and commanders, rather whole tanks. It would also be more helpful in terms of balancing, and people would hesitate less to buy a skin rather a tank which they already have.

  8. 172/209 is really bad even for a T7. Fine in T7, gold in Tier 8, and f*cked in tier 9.

  9. Well at least the lights have the camo to move in closer without getting spotted, theyre also fast enough. American mediums have always had high view range. The tier 8 Pershing have 400. And SURPRISE, the T20 at tier 7 have 390. But the Pershing, and presumably the tier 7 T26 have bad camo rating. Only the T20 have pretty good camo as it’s a small tank with no armor.

  10. @thegrippinchannel 172/209 is average for tier 7. Most mediums at tier 7 have 145/194 pen guns, like the Comet, KV13, T43, Leo with 75mm, VK30.02D. T20 and Panther with 160/243 and 198/244. There’s T34-1 and A44 with 175/235 and 167/219 but these 2 have really bad aim time and gun handling, and bad gun depression. The P.43 ter have 165/195, good AP but average APCR for its tier. Leo have 155/194 with the 105. T34-100 have 175/250 HEAT. But again, kinda meh gun handling and bad gun depression. Sure maybe you’re saying its bad because its big and slow, theres the Chi-ri, big slow, no armor, with a 75mm gun with 155/186AP.

  11. B/C we need another pile of crap WW2 era US tank for balanced RU tanks to farm!

  12. Most of the tier 7 mediums are 144 – 160 pen, only the Panther 1 has higher pen at 198 than 172.

  13. I like those historical tanks – its one of the reasons I probably like those tiers more than tier X where you hardly see “real thing”. Now it would be nice to see more events for those tiers (Frontline was very nice).
My only concern is that tier VII is a bit … weird since both VI and VIII have more uses for team activities while this is random-only.

  14. u mean t23e3(with the 76mm) and t26e3 eagle, also the t23 aint a CW reward it was sold in the shop for some times

  15. The T23E3 was very much a clan wars reward. And it has never been sold.
