World of Tanks Supertest: Object 257 to Replace T-10

2 min read

Wargaming announced another replacement, this time it will be the T-10, Tier IX from the Soviet heavy tank branch. This tank will be replaced by a vehicle that was on Supertest last year: Object 257 Heavy Tank.

Of course, all of you will ask why are they replacing it, and what will happen to the T-10. First, the replacement occurs because the T-10 never fitted the branch. In between the IS-3 and IS-7, two tanks where you can reliably use your armour and with an assault tank play style, you have the T-10, a glass heavy tank that plays more as a support role. With the replacement of this tank with Object 257, the branch will feel more natural to progress and will keep the same playstyle.

And what will happen to T-10 heavy tank? For now, Wargaming has ideas of re-introducing it as a Tier IX of a brand new mini-branch starting on the IS-3. This is not yet a final decision and Wargaming will share more information soon.

  1. But why? It is not like that tank is underplayed and after all the buffs to it and IS-7 it plays very similiarly. T-10 is the last tank I would replace. What is next? Replacing E 75 because it has more armor then the rest of the line?

  2. Because it’s a “non” fit. If they implement the branch I’m thinking they will, it makes more sense to have the T-10 in the new mini branch, than its current place. Object 257 was an IS-7 prototype, so it fits perfectly there anyway.

  3. So…. it’s a tier 9 Object 260? Well, what the hell is the point of getting the 260 when you can unlock this thing in less time? Seriously, the T-10 doesn’t need to be replaced, of all tanks in the game.

  4. 150 Hull Front? Such a gigantic lower plate? That thing will be even worse Armored then t10 imo

  5. have no problem with that change as long as WG keeps the T-10 in the game as well. T-10 is such a magnificient tank

  6. I have is7 and i have sold my t10 before purchasing the former. Now i dont know what to do. Should i purchase t10 again? Or will wot compensate it somehow?

  7. it does have worse weak spots. and less pen well you can see that wargaming is removing tanks with good pen. and then if the t10 does return you watch it will have a crappy gun or worse stats like pen and accuracy. this replacement is dumb.

  8. you will get the new tank researched but you will have to buy it. another thing the new tank better come fully upgraded because my t10 is fully upgraded. I noticed some of the replacement tanks like the vk 100.01 came not fully upgraded .

  9. this is super annoying the new 257 has worse guns stats all around . wargaming is on a trend of making tanks have to use premium rounds more then ever its bs and greedy

  10. That is so ******ed. Just because some plebs don’t know how to play game, doesn’t mean WG have to ruin the fun for us others. The tank fit very well in the branch, it plays very similar to the IS-3 for example; go hull down and snap shot.
