World of Warplanes 2.0 – Pictures & Details

2 min read

Hello everyone,

Just after I posted a World of Warplanes 2.0 gameplay video, a couple of minutes go by and I get an email from Spy99 with a few pictures of what is going on in the game. A big thanks to him for sharing this, in order I can share it with you all.

Please note all the following information is from the Supertest Server and subject to change before the final version is released.

Some of you might know, but I believe a lot of you might not. One of the biggest changes in World of Warplanes 2.0 is the introduction of Bombers as a Class. This new class plays a very important role in the game, because with the introduction of maps with objectives you have to destroy in order to get points, bombers will be the main class to attack ground targets.

These are some of bombers currently being tested, together with a lot of new changes to the game itself.

From what I could understand, this looks like a true and dedicated effort from Wargaming to revamp World of Warplanes. I still remember the conversation I had with Victor, back in 2013 at the Bovington Tank Museum. He truly believed the game had potential and could be the next Wargaming big hit. But as things turned out, it wasn’t really what the players were expecting and was received with lots of negativity.

There are still players who are against these new changes, but let’s hope Wargaming doesn’t just listen to their opinions, because the game seriously needs all the changes they have announced in order to become attractive to all the players who gave it a try before, but never stuck around.

  1. As long as this time around they do an Asian server. 300+ ping is no good to fly

  2. If they add the french I will play and even buy some stuff

  3. I know testing of WoWp is going as we speak, between 6 JUN and 18 JUN (not entirely sure). Not sure if they are still going to do more tests, or advance for a public test. IMHO I might think they are aiming for Gamescon, but I could be wrong.

  4. I updated WoWP yesterday, must say that it looks good and is very smooth
Question I had though, maybe I was to sleepy last night, but I could not find a way to switch premium consumables to be bought by credits, it was gold only? is this correct?

  5. Wowp doesn’t give you the ability to buy premium consumables with credits.
It’s not that bad as Premium ammo has it’s advantages and drawbacks, it’s best to use the universal ammo.
As for consumables, you can earn premium consumables very easy just by playing the game, and they don’t give you that much of an advantage anyway.

  6. Not related but is there any site that has pro’s and con’s for the WOWP tech tree aside from the wiki as its not updated at all.

  7. The game is lots of fun and captures the thrill of air combat
Better than other offerings out there, it’s more fun than arcade mode if war thunder.

  8. Well if it’s only if little advantage why the offer it anyway? If it is anything like WoT or WoWs then I tend to even disagree because the premium consumables are often edge over winning or losing, particularly if battling players are similarly skilled. This “one second” can mean all or nothing.
So no credit option means no WoWp for me. I am happy to spend on planes or premium time but never gold on consumables.

  9. Premium ammo has no real advantage, either a small increase in chance to start a fire, or a small increase in the chance to score a critical hit. Both of which are negated by crew skills, equipment and/or consumables, not worth the gold spent for the very small return. Universal ammo which is bought with credits gives you both an increase in the chance of fire and critical hits instead of one or the other like gold ammo does, and is much more cost effective. That said though, the free standard ammo works just as well, the difference is not noticeable except in the pocket book at higher tiers.
